WOW! It's been forever

Gosh it's been so long since I have even looked at this thing! Kensley is now 10 months and we just had her first Halloween. She was a little strawberry and it was so cute. I will have to post some pictures. She has done so much over the last few months, she now stands with no support and is side stepping down the couch and any chairs she comes to. She is eating big girl food and does not really like to eat jar food anymore. She is just the cutest thing ever and it seems like everyday something new is happening. We took a little family vacation a few weeks ago to San Antonio and went to Sea World. We think she had fun! It was raining and cold but we had her all covered up snug as a bug! She was able to see dolphins, Shamu, and the penguins were her favorite. I love being able to watch her face light up when she gets excited over something. We have been taking lots of walks in the afternoon when we get home from work because the weather is so nice. She gets so excited when she sees her jogger and bounces and screams to get it in! She is just like me, loves to be outside. I can not believe she is almost a year old. It makes me sad that soon she will not want to be rocked to sleep or want to snuggle with mommy at night. Hopefully I can train her to think that all kids snuggle before they go to bed and that way she will not know any different! Pray for me there :) We got her a piggy bank the other day and we put her first dollar bill in it. We wrote the date and I wanted to video tape it but Ryan thought that was dumb.... I thought it was cute. Well hopefully I can keep this thing updated a little more often than I have been. Thanks for reading!!

The summer is slowly ending

Well I have two more weeks till I have to go back to work and Kensley starts daycare. It seems like just yesterday I was writing that summer was here. It was a good summer. We didnt go anywhere or do anything too special but it was fun to watch her learn and grow for a few months. Im going to miss that when school starts. Nothing new has happend in the last week. Still no crawling. She lifts up on all fours and is in a push-up position and its so cute. I have decided that the hand moving is her doing sign language! They finally finished the bridge over lake lewisville. We drove it last night from Frisco and it seems like it took longer than going the old way. It is nice to be able to get out of our neighborhood fast though. I'll post some pictures in the next few days

Sorry it's been so long!

So its been a while! I finally had my surgery on July 10th and let me tell you it was rough!!! I dont think i have felt that much pain ever. It was a lot worse than they thought and ended up removing 1.5in of bone! I have a 3in. battle scar. Recovery was hard. I still cant lift anything or turn things. It itches like crazy and my skin is so gross under the wrap. My parents came and stayed with me and Kensley went to Ryan's parents which was a huge blessing. They were all so much help! This week Belinda is staying with us because i still cant lift Kensley.

On the Kenlsey side of things I think she is about ready to start crawling. It could be any day now! She lifts on all fours and is starting to rock back and forth. She can move backwards and will go all over the place. I just cant believe she is already 7 months old. She still wont take a bottle so that might be a little hard when daycare comes around!

Here are some pictures that we took in July

going, going, going..................

I feel like I am ALWAYS on the go. I can never sit still with her! She is always wanting to be up and moving. She has also started a weird sleeping habit. She loves to wake up around 12am and stay awake!!!! sometimes till 4am or 6am. Mommy can not keep doing that! Man she wears me out sometimes.
Today we had some friends over and it was so nice to watch all the babies play together and get to talk with other moms. It makes you realize that everyone is going through the same thing. Its hard being a mom.

We had her 6m check up on Monday. I had to go by myself because Ryan was really sick. She weighs 15.4 pounds and is in the 40% for her weight. Her height was 25in which puts her in the 25% for height. Little girl! She got three shots, I had to have Cathy hold her down so I could leave because I hate watching her get them. Ryan also had a shot! I think Kensley handled it better than he did! He is feeling a lot better now which is good. He was on vacation this week and I didn't want him sick the whole week. She is rolling over like crazy now too. And she is almost sitting up! I bet it will happen in a week or so. I'll post pictures as soon as it happens. I also noticed her sucking her thumb....ahhhhh... Ryan and I were both thumb suckers till elementary school! I know its a bad habit but its so cute! Well here are some pictures we took today! The one of her and Ryan is absolutely adorable-- OK well it took too long to upload so I'll do it later!

Summer Fun!

Well I went to the oncologist on Tuesday and surgery is set for July 10th. The doctor does not think it is cancer so that is a good thing. They are going to remove the tumor and either replace it with cadaver bone or take the joint out completely. He wont know until he is in the arm. So unfortunately I will not be able to use my arm for two weeks after the surgery. Luckily I have amazing friends and family who will be able to take care of Ryan and Kensley while I'm stuck in a sling!

So far other than that summer has been great. We swim a few times during the week and she loves it! We went over to Brady's on Monday and she had so much fun! Me on the other hand got a little too much sun and is not lobster colored. I was going to start a new hobby of bow making but went to the store and realized that it is way too expensive and I will have better luck just buying them. I think it would be so much fun though because I would be able to make them to match her outfits. Right now I'm on the look out for a huge fourth of July bow! I want it really big.

Hope everyone else is having a great summer!

Semi results I guess you could say......

I went to the doctor today and they referred me to an oncologist. I see him on Tuesday. He is one of the best in the area so that makes me feel a little better. Basically what it is, is a giant cell tumor in the bone. It has hollowed out my bone and pushed out causing the joint to fracture. Eroding it is what he said. Its about 5.2cm long and 1.6x1.6cm in diameter. Pretty big. They will do a biopsy and determine procedure from there. There is a possibility that they will have to do a total joint replacement because of the damage. Its also possible that it could be cancerous. Not high chances though. I will know more after they go in. Luckily its on in the same day. When they biopsy it they will also do the surgery. I'll post an update next Tuesday.

Other that that summer has been a blast. I go work out everyday and usually take Kensley to the pool. She loves it! I stocked up and made a ton of baby food so that was productive!

Not in my summer plans

Well today was the last day of school with kids. It was bitter sweet watching them leave. I was happy because it means summer is here but sad because the 8th graders were the first set of kids I taught. They all promised to come back and visit, but they will be big high schoolers and will forget about their middle school teacher.

On a different note, I finally went to the doctor for my arm on Tuesday. He referred me to an orthopedic doctor who took a look at the X-rays yesterday. He thinks it's either a tumor or a cyst on the bone and is sending me to have a CT scan and MRI on Friday. I will get the results on Tuesday and then go from there. All I can think about is what if its cancer or something. I don't care about the pain or treatments I just care about being here for Ryan and Kensley. I'm sure everything is fine but it still sits in the back of my mind. THIS WAS NOT IN MY SUMMER PLANS! Either way it will have to be removed. And to think, I just got done paying off all the doctor bills from the delivery! How am I ever going to get to Turks and Caicos if things like this keep coming up.

Summer is almost here!

4 days and counting! I think when you are looking forward to something time goes by slower :(
This weekend was full of sleepless nights! Either she is teething or having bad dreams, she was up every hour on the hour! It was so sad.....she would cry and scream and little tears would fall down her face, but as soon as you stuck that paci in everything was fine and dandy :) I dread the day we will take that away from her.
Jennifer and I got a gym membership at Lifetime after many hours of convincing the husbands. We are super excited! They have an indoor and outdoor pool so it will be nice for the kids but the best part is that its 2 hours of baby free time!!!!!!!!!!! And of course trying to work off the baby fat. My plan is to go 5 times a day..... I should say I have to go 5 times a day or Ryan will make me cancel!
Kensley tried the pool again yesterday. She liked it for about 5 minutes then I think her friend Hannah intimidated her and she started crying. She was hungry and tired so I probably should have waited. I'll get some new pictures of her in the pool and post them this week.

Fun in the Sun

Well her first time swimming was pretty uneventful! She sat there the whole time and didn't move at all. I even put hot water in the pool to make it a little warmer. We thought she would be pretty excited because when she is taking a bath she splashes everywhere!! I guess it will just take some getting used to. She sure does look cute though with her matching hat and swimsuit :)
This weekend was full of all sorts of fun. Saturday we went to see Julie and my parents then went shopping at Southlake town square. That night we had a rehearsal dinner for a wedding Ryan was in. Sunday we went to breakfast then out to find a dress for me for the wedding, in which i turned up empty handed. That night we had the wedding. She was really good until the end when she started getting tired so her and I left a little early. She slept really well and woke up at 6 to eat. I then snuck her in bed with me and let her sleep the rest of the morning with us. She took up the WHOLE bed - arms sprawled out and legs everywhere. It was nice to wake up again with her big blue eyes staring at me :) Monday we went to Sneaky Pete's and had a huge lunch/dinner. She had her first experience with the lake -- we put her little toes in the water! She was a little afraid of the waves though. We came home and then tried out the pool. Needless to say she was a very worn out little girl! Hopefully the next pool visit will be a little more entertaining!

Funny face

I love this face! Im not sure what she is doing or trying to do but she thinks it is so funny to make. Kensley has learned a new trick.......blowing raspberries :) she hasn't gotten it down all the way but she tries so hard. She will blow and forget to open her mouth a little and all it does is puff her cheeks out real big and make her hold her breath. Its cute to watch though. We have been so good this week and have gone on a walk every day! She LOVES being outside and watching everything around her.... she must have gotten that from me :) This weekend we are going to introduce squash into our diet so be looking for some pictures!

Busy Busy

This weekend was a very busy weekend. Friday night Kensley and I cleaned while daddy was at the golfing range. When he got home we decided to go eat dinner. Well I guess that was not on Kensley's to do list. As soon as we sat down and ordered our drinks she started crying pretty hard. Not sure if it was because it was a little noisy or because it was dark. So we got up and walked out. Subway it was. Saturday Ryan had to work so Kensley ran some errands in the rain. Bad idea...it was way too hard to try and carry her and an umbrella at the same time with grocery bags on my shoulder. But on a positive note I was able to get her some sweet potatoes and squash to make her baby food.
The first thing I made was sweet potatoes. Not hard at all! I spent $1.23 for three potatoes and it made about 36oz!!! At the store it cost $1.63 for two! ( we do organic so its a little more) I was soooo proud of myself!
After Ryan got home from work we went to his parents for the rest of the weekend. Everything was nice except the sleeping part. She woke up every hour!! I think it was because she was not in her own bed. So they all went to church the next morning and I got to stay home for some much needed sleep.

Yum!!!!!!!!!

Last night we decided to try sweet potatoes and she loved them!! She had it all over her face, it was so cute. I'm going to try and make my own baby food because it is so much cheaper and it makes a whole lot. You can freeze them and keep them for up to 3 months. Hopefully I can get enough stored up in the summer to where I wont be so busy with it when school starts back up.
I also got her a mosquito stroller net cover thing. It fits over the whole stroller so bugs cant get in. I hope it works so I can start taking her on walks again.

Can I bottle her up and never let her get older??

<------ My little ray of sunshine!!

As you can tell from the picture, our walk must have worn her out! Either that or she got bored :) Jennifer and I found a nice little walking trail that goes around the lake. If we walk the whole thing there and back its 2 miles!! It's really nice and shaded and there are rabbits everywhere. We just have to watch out for mosquitos! There were blackberry vines all along the way so I picked some and they were so good! It reminds me of when my mom and I used to pick them at Cedar Creek. Maybe I could get a bunch and make a pie!!!!

Kensley is almost 5 months old! I cant believe how fast time flies. Soon she will be sitting up and crawling :( I have mixed feelings about all her new tricks, I am happy that she is learning and growing but at the same time I'm sad because soon she wont be a baby anymore. Sometimes I just want to bottle her up like she is so I can enjoy this stage forever. I was thinking last night about people that have more than one kid.....how can you possibly love the second or third as much as you love the first?? I mean I know its possible but right now it just seems impossible to me. I want to be selfish and save all my love for her!! I don't want to share it with anyone. But I know as she gets older I will want another baby in the house....and my heart will get bigger so I can share the love :) But for right now she can stay Kensley SPOILED Dennis. Because all little girls deserved to be spoiled :)

My dear Kensley

Everytime I hear this song, I think of Kenlsey

Amazing

The morning cold and raining, dark before the dawn did come
How long in twilight waiting longing for the rising sun
ohoh ohoh
You came like crashing thunder breaking through these walls of stone
You came with wide eyed wonder into all this great unknown
ohoh ohoh
Hush now don't you be afraid
I promise you I'll always stay
I'll never be that far away
I'm right here with you
You're so amazing you shine like the stars
You're so amazing the beauty you are
You came blazing right into my heart
You're so amazing you are...You are
You came from heaven shining

Breath of God still flows from you
The beating heart inside me
Crumbled at this once I knew
ohoh ohoh
No matter where or how far you wander
For a thousand years or longer
I will always be there for you
Right here with you
You're so amazing you shine like the stars
You're so amazing the beauty you are
You came blazing right into my heart
You're so amazing you are...
I hope your tears are few and fast
I hope your dreams come true and last
I hope you find love that goes on and on and on
I hope you wish on every star
I hope you never fall too far
I hope this world can see how wonderful you are
You're so amazing you shine like the stars
You're so amazing the beauty you are
You came blazing right into my heart
You're so amazing...
You're so amazing you shine like the stars
You're so amazing the beauty you are
You came blazing right into my heart
You're so amazing you are...You are

Mother's Day!

My first mother's day was so much fun! I got to sleep till 9am!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ryan and Kensley took me to breakfast and then we all went to Wal-Mart together. I hate going by myself so that was a big treat for me :) We got a lot done today, I cleaned out her closet, organized her clothes, and Ryan gave the dogs a bath. Kensley took 2 great naps and I was so afraid that she wouldnt go to sleep, but come 7:30 she was passed out! Ryan woke up at 11pm to her screaming because she had rolled over to her stomach but couldnt figure out how to role back over......she is so cute when she screams!

She really hasnt done anything new lately excpet figuring out that her voice can get loud. She loves to "scream talk" as we call it. She is starting to laugh out loud more which is so fun to watch. Ryan sings her a frog song and she gets so excited when he makes the frog noise!

The Joys of a Saturday

Kensley Just loves her Bumbo seat! She thinks she is so big :) Today we went to the mall with Jennifer and Garrison. I bought her a new swim suit and hat that match and they are so cute. I can not wait to take her to the pool. She loves the water. I have a feeling that its going to be a fight to get her out! I signed her up for swim lessons in July so that should be a lot of fun. Mother's day is tomorrow.....my first one, Im super excited! I love being a mom!!

So I'm new at this!

I finally gave in and started a blog for our family. Now hopefully I can keep it updated :)
I'm sure many of you who will be reading this will only be reading to see how Kensley is doing so most of my blogging will probably be about her!

Kensley is getting so big! She is almost 5 months old and I can't believe how fast it has gone by. It seems like everyday she is doing something new. Her favorite thing right now is to "scream talk." She is soooo loud! She really loves it when you bob her mouth to make the different sounds. She gets a huge smile on her face and her BIG eyes light up! Gosh she is just so darn cute!

Words can not express how amazing the love is for this little girl. Ryan and I were talking the other night about me first finding out that I was pregnant. We were in such shock and very excited at first. After a few weeks I became so sick that I was mad that I was pregnant. I wanted everything except to be pregnant. Now I look at her and think "yes, I would do it all over again for her"
